Nursem
This is the story of a woman who washed her hands a lot. To be precise, she did it an average of 50-60 times a day. Her name is Antonia Philp and she is an English nurse. Her hands were cracked, irritated, and sometimes even wounded. This also happened to her colleagues: sooner or later, the vast majority ended up with hand problems. So, together with her husband Johnny she decided to launch a brand of products for sensitive and irritated hands. It took 7 years to achieve what they wanted. In 2018 Nursem was born.
But Antonia and Johnny had a double plan.
First was the creation of hand products tested by health workers and other professionals who needed to wash frequently: nurses, midwives, caregivers, gardeners, hairdressers, etc. The first to launch was the Hand Cream. Antonia says: "I needed a super-fast, non-greasy absorption hand cream full of assets that would protect and replenish the natural oils lost by excessive washing while being highly hydrating".
The second plan was what she calls the Nursem promise. For each product purchased, Nursem gives a health worker the equivalent of a month's worth of products. By September 2020, Nursem had already donated products to almost 100,000 workers in Great Britain.
We love the idea at Laconicum, so we will also donate a month of Nursem to a health worker for each product purchased. We will start with the Hospital de la Paz (Madrid), Hospital Dos de Maig (Barcelona), Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla (Santander) and the Las Calesas Health Center (in Usera, Madrid).
Remember this every time you buy a hand cream. Somewhere, thanks to you (and Antonia) someone will have their hands taken care of for a month. We will keep the promise.
